The late great Suru Ekeh

Suru aka "The Witch Doctor" was from Ghana, Africa. He could play any musical instrument from all and any hand drums, shekere, jun jun AND keyboards, guitar, bass and sing like a bird. He saw me playing on the street w trumpeter Dave Douglas and bassist Kermit Driscoll. Suru and I became instant best friends. He didn't tell me that I was going to be Olatunji's next trap drummer, because He knew I wouldn't handle it well. So he gently tricked me into it. Once I met Baba, there was no turning back.
